I am a chartered architect who is passionate about buildings, particularly historic buildings.
I studied civil engineering at the University of Leeds and following a few years working for a large architectural practice in Norwich decided to continue my education in architecture. I undertook post-graduate studies and my professional qualifications at Oxford Brookes on a part-time basis while working for a large conservation practice, which is where I discovered my love of the historic environment.
Since qualifying, I have worked on a wide-range of projects from conservation repairs to local churches and private home extensions to many highly significant public and private buildings, both locally, in London and as far afield as Hong Kong. I also have experience in new-build housing developments.
I enjoy researching the history of buildings to understand the building today and using this to inform the design process. I am particularly interested in sustainability and materials. I love seeing projects progress from paper to completion.
I am President of the Norfolk Association of Architects and I sit on the Planning Appraisal Committee of the Norwich Society.
